Russia has released previously-classified footage documenting the development and detonation of the ‘Tsar Bomba’ hydrogen bomb, the largest nuclear bomb detonation in Histor,y in celebration of 75 years of Russia’s nuclear development.

The footage, which comes during a 40-minute Soviet-style propaganda film, was released on the YouTube channel of the Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation on Aug. 20 and can be seen here.

The video shows never-before-seen shots of the actual Tsar Bomba explosion, which had an estimated yield of around 50 megatons, or 50 million tons of TNT, the largest nuclear bomb yield in History.

The detonation was so large that created a massive crater that can be seen even today on google maps. The shock-waves circled the world 3 times.
