You read that right. The only Holywood actor that everyone seems to like found detractors.
Keanu Reeves movies were pulled out of Chinese streaming platforms, allegedly over his support of Tibet. So there you have it, after decades of successfully avoiding being cancelled or metoo’d, famously kick-starting the “hovering hands” meme, Reeves ended up being cancelled ….in China.
It was all over his participation as a performer for the 35th annual Tibet House Benefit Concert.
Keanu was scrubbed from Tencent Video, Youku and Migu Video. A search for Reeves on the platform iQiyi reportedly gives users the following message: “Sorry, no results related to ‘Keanu Reeves’ were found. Due to relevant laws, regulations and policies, some results are not shown.” Which is funny, because I get the same answer when I look for “Alex Jones” on Spotify or “Hunter Biden laptop” on twitter.
